ABOUT US

OUR MISSION: To rescue corgis with behavioral or troubled pasts, provide them with a safe home environment where they can be rehabilitated and learn to live happily as a part of our pack.  This home is known as Corgwyn Rehabilitation Sanctuary (CRS)

OUR HISTORY: Founder, Brett Butler, has been rescuing and rehabilitating dogs since 2004.  Brett fell into this role while being a corgi owner who worked with horses and helping fellow Corgi owners with behavior problems.  Corgis are such amazing, fun, smart, cute, energetic & challenging kids; they just won his heart. Every corgi lover knows, the addiction is real!  One glance of the Corgi mind-melding stare, and you are hooked!  For those reasons, the corgi breed became Brett’s sole focus in 2014.

Over time, his home emerged as an unofficial Corgi sanctuary and rehab, whereby Corgi rescuers nationwide reached out to him with troubled Corgis that, in many cases, were viewed as unmanageable and could not be rehomed. In 2018, Corgwyn Rehabilitation Sanctuary became a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt non-profit organization.

At CRS we are very grateful to be able to have the capability to provide this service. We have built a solid reputation as we focus on helping corgis heal their spirits, resolve behavior issues, and repair trust. It’s a team effort of rescuers, volunteers, donors and my personal corgis.  As a sanctuary, our resident corgis cannot be rehomed.  CRS provides forever home for corgis who fall into hard luck, are at their last resort due to bad behavior. We have taken in many who were scheduled to be euthanized but were sent to us instead.   I have learned that most of the damage is caused by forces outside of their control.  With the pack and my team’s help, they can be turned around and lead happy lives at CRS.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?   This is an expensive endeavor, and since each dog we take in stays for the remainder of their lives how long they are here can vary greatly. CRS’s biggest expenses circle around veterinary care, medications, special diets and other medical bills. Other items such as food, crates, beds, cleaning supplies, etc. are vital, and course toys and chew bones!  In order to provide a sanctuary for these damaged dogs, we need the help of supporters like you.  Support comes in so many different ways! To ensure funding for operations and to have a reliable donation stream, monthly recurring donations are ideal.  We realize that is not feasible for everyone, so donations can also be made at your convenience as a ‘one time’ donation when you are ready.  Supporters can discuss volunteer opportunities at CRS by helping at the sanctuary with the dogs, on the property, or bringing your special talents or ideas to us.  Sharing the story about CRS with your family, co-workers and friends to help us grow our followers on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram is always appreciated too!
